But Casio is insistent that he wasn’t the only reason for the victory, citing the effort of his teammates.
“They were setting me up,” said Casio. “They gave me open looks and they made things easier for me. Mahirap lusutan yung mga kagaya nina Jimmy [Alapag] and Jayson [Castro]. Overall, it was a total team effort.”
While Casio hopes that his fine performances continue, he hopes his team doesn’t have to rely on him catching fire to come from behind in too many games.
“I hope this won’t be the last where I can have games such as this one,” Casio told InterAKTV. “But I hope we don’t need to come from a big deficit in completing a win ang hirap rin kasi.”
Casio, last season’s top overall rookie pick, said Friday night’s performance against two of the best point guards in the league — Alapag and Castro of Talk ‘N Text — wasn’t a statement.
“I’m just here to play basketball and help my team,” said Casio. “Challenge will always be there every game. But I’m here to play my game and help my team.”
